Tonight: Forum on Building Belmont’s Future

If you’re interested in the future of our community, including how we can change the way we do things to embrace change and better provide for the needs of residents, there’s an event tonight that you don’t want to miss. The Town of Belmont is partnering with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), the regional planning agency for Greater Boston, and Metro West Collaborative Development, to provide the Belmont community with an update to the town’s current Housing Production Plan (HPP).

The event tonight is kind of a “kick off” for that process -an opportunity for the Town of Belmont and MAPC to introduce the project team, review the HPP process, and discuss current housing needs and context.

It is taking place tonight in person at The Beech Street Center (266 Beech Street) at 6:30 (doors open at 6:00). The event will also take place in hybrid format to engage as many residents as possible.

This is the first of many events to take the pulse of different groups in town. On November 16, for example, the Town and MAPC will host a focus group for individuals and families in town who are struggling with housing costs. That happens from 5:30 to 6:30 in the Community Room at Waverley Oaks Country Club.
