Got a broken lamp? A toaster that won’t toast? Or maybe a chair that’s seen better days? Don’t toss them—fix them!
On Saturday, October 25, from 1–4 PM, the Belmont Public Library, in partnership with the Beech Street Center, will host its latest FixIt Clinic: a hands-on troubleshooting workshop in which residents can bring in their broken household items and learn the art of repair. This is latest Belmont clinic after last November’s – also at the Beech Street Center.
Unlike a drop-off service, FixIt Clinics are all about participation. Skilled volunteer coaches assess your broken device and guide you through the disassembly and repair process. You not only walk away with a working item (or a plan to get it working), but also the skills and confidence to tackle future fixes on your own. It’s a chance to share knowledge, reduce waste, and build community resilience—one repair at a time.
If you wish to take part, start by registering your device using the link below!
