Attention all Belmont runners (and walkers): there’s a new, local event to put on your calendar and sign up for: the Belmont AAPI 5K Run ‘n’ Walk, which will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
This is a great event organized by the amazing Belmont Chinese American Association (BCAA). Proceeds from the run will raise funds to support the Belmont Celebrates AAPI Heritage Fund, which supports events around town that celebrate the contributions of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. (May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.)
The 5K run and walk is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM. Events before the race will include a warm up session, some short addresses and (of course) the singing of the national anthem. The race starts and ends on BHS track and goes through the Winn Brook neighborhood in Belmont.
Online registration is open for another week, until Friday, April 22nd. The first 200 registered runners/walkers will be offered a special AAPI short sleeve running shirt. To register, please use the button below or visit https://www.BelmontCelebratesAAPIHeritage.org/Run
