If you’re like me, you probably didn’t sleep much and aren’t too thrilled about the headlines. But it’s always darkest right before the dawn – as the saying goes. And, in Belmont’s case, the sunshine is right around the corner in the form of a public meeting to discuss plans for the Belmont Community Path this evening, at 7:00 pm in the Art Gallery on the third floor of the Homer building.

I encourage all of you to shake off the dust, come out to the meeting and “lean in” here in the Town of Homes, where a lot of exciting changes are just around the corner.

This meeting was originally scheduled for one week ago, but was moved back. There will be another a week from today on November 16.

On the agenda for this evening’s meeting: path options for the Central part of the proposed Community Path, which covers the Eastern end of the DPW property down to Alexander Avenue. This is actually a complicated bit of the path and warrants a lot of attention and feedback from the community if we’re going to get it right.

At these meetings, the consultant’s conceptual design for the alternatives carried forward from the CPAC will be presented, as well as potential alternates, for each segment discussed at the
meeting. All views and comments made at the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
