A shout out for volunteers

This is a shout out to the BloggingBelmont community and especially folks living in Precinct 8 (the Winn Brook district, generally speaking).  Together for Wellington, the citizen’s group that supports the construction of a new Wellington Elementary School, is looking for volunteers who would be willing to help us do some canvassing and voter identification both in Prencinct 8 and in other precincts.

I’m coordinating efforts in Precinct 8 and am on the lookout for involved, motivated folks who can spare a couple hours to organize GOTV efforts on their street and in their neighborhood. This is incredibly important work that you can do from home or on the phone.

With a vote on the Wellington debt exclusion (as well as a possible Prop 2 1/2 override) coming up sometime in May or June, the time to act is now.  This is a great way to get involved in an important, grass roots effort right here in your own community. You’ll also meet some great, politically involved folks in your neighborhood and help secure a better future for Belmont’s students, to boot.

If  you’re interested in joining up, please e-mail me at: paul (at) bloggingbelmont.com or call: 617 817 0198.

Thanks! I can’t wait to hear from you.  — Paul
